Wright joined forces with Smith Brothers and Wilson (SBW) on this project as part of a joint venture. The Peace Arch Hospital Expansion is a 3-storey renovation/addition project and the new, four-level emergency tower will be physically connected to the existing building at three levels, and the integration on site must be seamless. The program components include a new emergency department, a surgical suite with five new state-of-the-art operating rooms, and a redeveloped medical device reprocessing department designed to current infection control standards. These represent some of the most complex spaces in a health care facility; the quality of work is critical, and the technology and equipment requirements are considerable.
