Merlis Belsher Place

Merlis Belsher Place is the new home of the U of S Huskies men and women’s hockey programs, campus rec hockey leagues and Saskatoon Minor Hockey. This is a two-story pre-engineered building with an area of 115,550 sq.ft on the main level and 44,000 sq.ft on the second level. The building consists of two rink surfaces, the main spectator rink has a seating capacity of 2,615 with ability for future expansion and is suitable for concerts and other spectator events. The spectator ice surface is a hybrid dimension that is 5’ wider than a standard NHL rink and the auxiliary rink is NHL standard size. Both ice surfaces are designed to accommodate year-round use. The facility also houses the men and women’s varsity soccer team rooms along with space designated for campus recreation. A gymnasium facility was incorporated as part of the project that will allow for a practice facility for the varsity basketball program.
