Grande Prairie Library

Situated in downtown Grande Prairie, this high profile 86,000 ft 2 two-story is an addition to an existing heritage site gallery. The public library and art gallery includes a full underground cast-in-place parkade. Designated as a LEED Silver Project, it was completed in 24 months and has been judged a success by the City and people of Grande Prairie. Recipient of design awards and featured in design and construction magazines, the building includes many artistic features, unique color pallets and materials which added to the challenge in construction of this interesting building. Coordination required careful planning as some components (structural steel) came from as far away as Quebec and in some instances (stainless glass) from even as far away as Germany. These items required early communication with suppliers and delicate review of shop drawings to ensure proper installation once items arrived on site.
