Blessed Marie-Rose School

This new school boasts a spacious two- storey open concept gathering and learning common that is highlighted by a large precast bleacher finished with terrazzo. Architectural features that were incorporated include, “cloud” style ceilings with pendant lighting, stainless steel and glass railings, and acoustical wall treatments. The exterior is designed with three full-height crosses integrated within a prefabricated panel and masonry veneer facade.

The school is built on a “greenfield” site within a new neighborhood in northwest Calgary, adding to the existing baseball diamonds and outdoor soccer fields. The building structure is constructed of load-bearing masonry, structural steel, and a structural concrete slab. The project achieved LEED Silver and included the addition of solar panels.
