SHOP MANAGER

SUMMARY OF POSITION

This role is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the operations of Wright Constructions mechanic/service shop.

DUTIES

  1. Oversee shop and yard workers
  2. Oversee day to day repairs on equipment
  3. Communicate with Management and Superintendents on equipment repairs and availability
  4. Schedule equipment repairs and determine the priority
  5. Communicate estimated equipment repair completion dates
  6. Communicate with sublet repair shops on deliver and costs as required
  7. Fleet management of new equipment needs
  8. Assess and dispose of retired equipment
  9. Complete hazard assessments monthly
  10. Ensure shop and yard workers are submitting paperwork as required
  11. Oversee and manage the shop as regards maintenance, building repairs, and equipment inspections
  12. Oversee and maintain common areas as regards snow removal, gravel, and garbage
  13. Service and repair Wright Construction vehicles and equipment
  14. Assist with shop and yard duties as required
  15. Manage costs with sublet repair shops and parts suppliers, issue PO’s for repair parts and sublet work, and submit PO’s to the office as required
  16. Attend toolbox meetings as scheduled
  17. Complete hazard assessments and site inspections monthly
  18. Ensure workers follow the Safety program
  19. Promote Wright Construction culture and values

REQUIREMENTS

  1. High School Diploma preferred
  2. 1-3 Years of experience in a related field
  3. Minimum of 1 year in a management or supervisor role; ability to supervise a crew of 10 or more
  4. Must have strong communication, planning and organization skills
  5. Understanding and commitment to safety is required
  6. Able to work with others and gain their respect. Ability to take responsibility, make decisions and drive execution
  7. Valid Driver’s License preferred
