We are currently seeking a Project HSE Coordinator to join our team in Regina on one of Saskatchewan’s most significant public recreation developments.
About the Project:
Wright Construction is proud to be a partner in the Joint Venture leading the delivery of the City of Regina Indoor Aquatic Facility — a $300 million, multi-year public recreation project that will serve the community for generations.
This state-of-the-art facility will include competitive swimming lanes, diving platforms, leisure water features, wave pool elements, and complex mechanical and filtration systems, along with public gathering spaces. Located within an active residential and recreational area, the project requires careful coordination of high-risk construction activities within a highly visible municipal environment.

We have an exciting opportunity available – We are currently seeking a Full Time HSE Coordinator to join our team in Regina, Saskatchewan.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
- The Project HSE Coordinator will be employed by Wright Construction and assigned full-time to the Indoor Aquatic Facility project.
- This role will support the Joint Venture project team in implementing and maintaining effective health, safety, and environmental practices in accordance with Saskatchewan OH&S legislation and the Joint Ventures safety management system.
- Working closely with Project Management, Site Supervision, subcontractors, and Wright’s Corporate HSE team, the Project HSE Coordinator will proactively manage risk, monitor compliance, and promote a culture of safety excellence throughout all phases of construction.
- This position is primarily site-based and follows a typical Monday–Friday schedule, with flexibility as operational requirements dictate.
Specific responsibilites include but are not limited to:
- Support implementation and enforcement of the Project-Specific Safety Plan (PSSP).
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits; identify hazards and initiate corrective actions.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with OH&S legislation and project safety requirements.
- Facilitate site orientations and new worker onboarding.
- Assist with development and review of Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs), Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Safe Work Procedures.
- Lead or assist with incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
- Participate in Occupational Health Committee meetings and project safety meetings.
- Track and report leading and lagging safety indicators.
- Support Prime Contractor obligations under Saskatchewan OH&S legislation.
- Maintain accurate and timely safety documentation and reporting.
- Promote positive engagement and collaboration among trades and supervision to strengthen site safety culture.
- Assist in coordinating safe construction activities where work interfaces with adjacent facilities and public areas.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2–5 years of construction HSE experience, preferably on large commercial or public infrastructure projects.
- Experience working in high-risk construction environments, including excavation, structural concrete, cranes and rigging, and complex mechanical installations.
- Strong working knowledge of Saskatchewan OH&S Act and Regulations.
- Experience supporting Prime Contractor responsibilities is considered an asset.
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation preferred.
- Experience using digital safety management systems (e.g., SiteDocs or equivalent).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including investigation report writing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license.
