Job Responsibilities
We have an exciting opportunity available – We are seeking a Full Time Superintendent to join our team in Alberta, that is also open and willing to travel.
Summary of Position
Reporting to the Site Operations Team in our Calgary office, Superintendents are responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of site crews. This role ensures that a project is completed on time and within budget. This position is required to work on location, which may be throughout Western Canada and to work in weather extremes. This position may be required to conduct work outside of city limits and is therefore required to maintain a valid driver’s license. Interacting with sub-contractors, project managers, owners, and consultants on a day-to-day basis is a requirement.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Plan, schedule, organize, direct and control construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.
- Oversee day-to-day field activities.
- Supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff.
- Manage QA/QC program
- Monitor and ensure on-site safety compliance.
- Train new employees.
- Enforce policies and procedures
- Be a mentor and leader for Superintendents and Foreman, and actively participate in developing team culture and promoting Wright Construction culture and values
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Possession of a Journeyperson Carpenter ticket is preferred.
- A Valid Driver’s License is required.
- High School Diploma required.
- Valid CSTS Certificate
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of Construction Supervision experience is required; and the ability to supervise a crew of 10 or more.
- Knowledge of the building process and detailed knowledge of all aspects of the concrete trades and practices is required; and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.
- Understanding and commitment to safety is required.
